About me and my blog
I am student at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). I will graduate with a degree in Medical Science and a second degree in Business at the end of 2017.
I have consistently maintained excellent academic results, thus earning a spot on the Dean's Merit List in both the Business and Science faculties. My main research interest lies in the therapeutic value of psychedelics, MDMA and cannabis. I find this niche particularly intriguing because, owing to their legal status, there has been a significant lack of research into these drugs and their effects. The vast area of unknowns encompassing the effects of these drugs, set against the gradually mounting evidence suggesting that these drugs could be useful as effective treatments in a wide range of severe and notoriously treatment-resistant conditions, is what draws my scientific attention. Twice I have attended the Breaking Convention in London, where I met with world-leading researchers in the field of 'psychedelic science'. There is a diary of my most recent experience there on this site. I used to co-host a podcast called 'Music, Weed & Cheese', which has since been taken offline due to a lack of funding. The podcast covered a range of information - scientific, journalistic and cultural - relating to cannabis, MDMA and psychedelics in general. We interviewed prominent and relevant people in the field and had a great time doing so. Now I add videos to my YouTube channel periodically, documenting research in medical fields that interest me. Have a look around this site, get in touch and I hope you enjoy. |
